Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday issued a strong statement following the brutal terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 25 tourists and one local resident. Addressing a government event in Madhubani, Bihar, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the victims and delivered a powerful message of resolve and unity.<\/p>\n
Beginning his speech with a moment of silence, Modi said the entire country is mourning the horrific attack, which he described as a \u201ccowardly assault on India\u2019s soul.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe entire nation shares the grief of the bereaved families. We are doing everything possible to support the injured. Someone lost a son, someone lost a brother, a life partner. They came from across the country \u2014 Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Gujarati, and among them, a son of Bihar,\u201d the Prime Minister said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
He emphasized that the pain is being felt from \u201cKargil to Kanyakumari,\u201d and that the attackers have committed an unforgivable act against the unity and peace of the nation.<\/p>\n
In a stern warning to those responsible, Modi declared:<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe terrorists and their masterminds will face consequences they cannot imagine. The time has come to wipe out the last remnants of terror networks. The will of 140 crore Indians will break the back of those who shelter and support terrorism.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
In a direct message to the global community, PM Modi switched to English:<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister\u2019s remarks come amid a nationwide outpouring of grief and rising anger over the attack, which targeted civilians at the scenic Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam. Intelligence reports suggest the attackers had links to Pakistan-based terror groups.<\/p>\n
India has since announced a series of diplomatic and strategic countermeasures, signaling a hardening of its stance in the fight against cross-border terrorism.<\/p>\n
