India Announces Tough Measures Against Pakistan After Pahalgam Terror Attack!!

Listen to this News

In a strong response to the brutal terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed 26 civilian lives, India on Wednesday unveiled a set of major diplomatic and strategic countermeasures aimed at Pakistan.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) outlined five key actions as part of what it described as a “decisive response to cross-border terrorism.”

1. Suspension of Indus Waters Treaty

India has suspended its cooperation under the Indus Waters Treaty, which allows 39 billion cubic meters of water to flow into Pakistan each year. This historic treaty, often viewed as a rare symbol of cooperation between the two nations, has now been put on hold.

2. Closure of Attari-Wagah Border

The Attari-Wagah land crossing, a vital route for trade and people-to-people contact, has been shut down immediately.

3. Ban on Pakistani Nationals Entering India

India has indefinitely suspended the entry of Pakistani citizens. This includes all visa services and cross-border travel permits.

4. Expulsion of Military Advisors

All Pakistani military advisors stationed at their High Commission in New Delhi have been ordered to leave the country, marking a clear downgrading of military-level diplomatic ties.

5. Reduction of Pakistan’s Diplomatic Staff

India has asked Pakistan to cut its diplomatic staff strength in New Delhi from 55 to just 30, reducing its operational presence to a minimal level.

These bold steps reflect India’s hardened stance following one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in recent memory, and send a strong message that cross-border terrorism will not be tolerated.
